Marketing Intern

General Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, this position will assist with various aspects of marketing and communications. Some of those duties include social media marketing, digital marketing, content creation and special events for the Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District. This includes Water World Colorado, Adventure Golf & Raceway and other facilities under the Hyland Hills Park and Recreation District operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to content creation for local ads, social media, and e-mail marketing campaigns. This includes capturing in-park footage for graphic design, video editing and social media sharing. 
2. Social media marketing coordination and support. This includes promotion of the platforms, acquiring new subscribers to our social media pages including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Act as ambassador for District with the social media community. 
3. Assist and coordinate with DOMC for all in-park special events including contests and other in-park promotions.  
4. Assist in collecting content for various marketing platforms including direct mail, social media, emails, website and television.  
5. Prepare daily/weekly sales reports for management. 
6. Attend marketing meetings for collaboration and planning throughout the season. 
7. Assist in management of email marketing for all District facilities. 
8. Other duties as needed to assist the Marketing and Communications Department. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

1. Must have a current valid driver’s license. 
2. Ability to work under minimal supervision and assume responsibility for tasks given. 
3. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite Software for graphic design is a plus. 
4. Knowledge of social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. 
5. Experience with Microsoft Office.
6. Must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, as required, including some weekends, nights and holidays. 
7. Must be courteous and work well with fellow team members.
8. Must be cordial and polite, creating a positive guest experience.

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

1. Ability to lift 30lbs.
2. Ability to climb heights up to 50-feet.
3. Work in different outdoor temperatures and climates including extremely hot and cold days. 
4. Stand and walk for long periods of time. 
5. Environmental conditions encountered will include noise, fumes, odors, and dust.
6. Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends on a limited basis.

Education/Experience:

1. Students enrolled in college/university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communication or Recreation.
